Heard about the Girls Aloud phone? It's been made by Samsung and is being sold through Phones 4 U, and is a customised version of the F210 handset. You can read all about it over on the main Mobile Choice site. But which other bands or singers should get their own mobiles? Well, here's our ideas:
1. Prince. He's in with O2 after his many many gigs at The O2 this year, and there's a raft of purple handsets being released this Christmas, which is his colour. Obviously, the PrincePhone would have to be small and perfectly-formed, like the man himself. Although less likely to break into a jazz-funk solo at the drop of a hat, ideally.
2. Radiohead. Thom York's posse have just announced plans to sell their next album direct to fans, rather than go through a record label. Why not extend that to the mobile space too? A Radiohead phone would be brooding and logo-free, although they could get Nokia to release it as an Nseries handset, or as Nokia might put it, multimedia OK computer. Ahem.
3. The Cast of High School Musical. Because, dammit, they've got their faces plastered on every other conceivable bit of consumer merchandise possible, so why not a phone?
4. Craig David. One of the most surreal keynote speeches at the 3GSM mobile industry conference was provided by Craig in 2006, when he explained how his mobile interacts with his home. Apparently, he texts the word 'CHILL' to his house, which automatically dims the lights and puts soothing music on. Someone put this into a commercial mobile so we can all do it!
5. Crazy Frog. Oh, hang on. Maybe not...
